Sanity and Clarity

In a land of peculiar trees;

By the rivers meeting the sea breeze,

A life was torn between

Sanity and Clarity

Where the rivers met

Or, what have you:

You tossed, lost the bet;

Thinking through the day’s run

Endless swimming, simmering in

The endless sun.

Thoughts crash like waves

on a rocky shore

Like a lone spark amidst the dark

Which strikes, strikes and strikes

To some lonesome core.

Philosophers only find the reasons

For every change, every constant pattern;

As if by rhyme, with all the time,

The days bleed pink in night skies

With the glint, glimmer – shimmer of dimmer surprise

Nights recklessly drank away the times and seasons
